Let’s paint a crumpled paper towel over the kitchen from my childhood home. The counters were an orange laminate and there is a tubular fluorescent light fixture over the sink. The cupboards were a brown wood and the backsplash purple. I remember coming home from school one day and my mom had painted much of the kitchen this dark purple. I recall, though without certainty, that even the counters were painted purple and my father scraped most of it off afterwards.
