Drawing or Dinner, Child

$1.00
sold out

I probably took the broccoli photo either to show my sister what I was doing or, if for myself, to record a moment like how we journal - “Look. I did it. I made this bright green broccoli and we will eat dinner and we are alive.” Either way, the photo is quite worthless but resonates for me as a sign of habit. The absolute embarrassment of this photo of broccoli, of being a a person, a record of a moent passed ….I want to print it and blow up and then paint over it into submission. I paint over the broccoli snapshot with longer, stiller moments — my child drawing (as she happens to be wearing a Gap Van Gogh Sunflowers t-shirt) and a bunch of unbelievably vibrant daisies in a glass.
